Four years, and your life.
This enigmatic phrase was written on the poster advertising the dance education I signed up for.
It sounded like a fairytale pact with the devil.
We would like to convey through dance the absurdity, transcendence and human nature of our chosen vocation, without denying its humour or sublimity. In doing so, we pay tribute to all those who, through their vocation, whatever it may be, strive to shape time to the best of their ability, struggling daily with the absurd, transcendent and human components of life.
In the third creative process of SubLab this year, under the guidance of Emese Cuhorka, the dancers delve deep into their relationship with dance.
“I yearn for those fiery, glowing eyes, for those who sink their iron teeth into the wheels of time and, on the chariot of their relentless passion, take me to a place where I don’t understand what’s happening, but I am captivated by the uniquely personal rhythm of what unfolds before my eyes.
Dazzle me, sweep me away from the spreading butter on bread!”
