Socratic Ignorance. The state where she acknowledges what she doesn’t know. Approaching movement every day as if it is the first. Approaching practice with curiosity and humility. Study it with gratitude and love it with respect. Being present and open to whatever comes. Trust. Fulfilling commitment to researching the totality of the movement. Approaching her being as a whole. Mind and body is one. To be truthful within her art. Meaning keeping true to her values while exploring, creating, and performing.
Discovering the freedom she has when exploring movement is what made her realise there is always so much more to it. She finds comfort in safety. However, she seeks vulnerability. Exposing raw the body to the endless opportunities of movement. Constantly searching for ways to break what was previously established and settled in the body. To stimulate sensations and experience what is unknown. Going deeper into the movement. Squeezing the muscle more than before, twisting further into the joint, getting lower, giving into the idea of gravity. Bringing awareness to my limits and actively challenging them.
