Anna Fauro

Anna is an Italian dancer who obtained a three-year diploma studying at the Opus Ballet Choreographic Centre in Florence. During her training years she had the opportunity to work with internationally renowned choreographers such as Lali Ayguadé, Jiri Pokorny, Nico Ricchini and Eddie Martinez. She is currently a member of the SUB.LAB.PRO Ensemble.

She is interested in various art forms such as photography and believes that every aspect of her life can be used and included in performance language. Her main goal is to build, through an ever deeper connection with her emotions and life experiences, an image that reflects these characteristics by using exaggeration, resulting in an almost grotesque character that seeks a continuous balance between femininity and masculinity, non-human and human.

By using qualities such as release and isolations of her body she tries to connect her non-dancer peculiarities in order to transport the audience more deeply. “As someone who needs constant stimulation, I have come to the conclusion that dance is, for the time being, something that has accompanied me throughout my life indiscriminately. It is simply the thing that I continue to cultivate without ever getting bored.”
